OUR INSTRUCTORS 

Lorraine Frisbee

Lorraine is the founding instructor at Lorraine’s School Of Cake Decorating. She began decorating cakes for enjoyment and made her first wedding cake at the age of 13. Now, an award winning cake decorator, decorating professionally for over 43 years, Lorraine has taught over 4,000 students locally and abroad in cake, candy and foreign method decorating. Lorraine is a member of the Wilton Hall Of Fame and prestigious Wilton President’s Club. She is a former bakery owner, cake show judge, sugar-art demonstrator; I.C.E.S. member and former I.C.E.S. state representative. Lorraine also produced eight different cake decorating and candy making videos sold globally. Lorraine has become a “snow-bird” and now teaches her craft part-time.

Laurie Bourke

Laurie Bourke is an instructor at Lorraine’s School Of Cake Decorating. She began her training with her mother Lorraine Frisbee, at a young age, and was also trained by Wilton. She is an award winning decorator who has attended numerous classes and seminars on cake decorating. Laurie has been an employee of Lorraine’s, Inc. for 38 years and has over 27 years teaching experience. Laurie now owns and manages Lorraine’s. She has taught over 2,700 students, and is a member of the Wilton Hall Of Fame.

Jim Frisbee

Jim Frisbee, Lorraine’s husband and right-hand man, co-teaches the candy classes at Lorraine’s School Of Cake Decorating. He has won awards for his candy creations and has worked with a national company to market his two inventions: the Adaplicator™ Top Candy Bottle and the Multi-Melter™ Chocolate Melter. Jim has attended many classes and seminars on candy making, and is our chocolate expert. A former elevator mechanic, Jim is also our resident Kitchen-Aid Mixer mechanic, on duty June-September.

Melissa Mason

Melissa Mason, an instructor at Lorraine’s School of Cake Decorating, has been decorating cakes for 26 years, and owns her own licensed in-home bakery. She is an award winning decorator who has been trained by Lorraine, Wilton and other professional cake artists, as well as had her work published in a cake magazine. Melissa has over 14 years teaching experience, has taught over 1,000 students, and is a member of the Wilton Hall Of Fame. She is an I.C.E.S. member and a member of Icing Smiles. She continues to take classes and educate herself so she can share her talents with her students.
